Day 11 – Augusta State Farmers Market

by Stacie Wells on March 15, 2010

Forgive my absence yesterday! I’m in the process of making a trip halfway across the country and back. The things we do for our children!! :) Augusta GA Farmers Market

Since Melissa had requested information on the Augusta State Farmers Market on the Augusta365 Facebook page, I thought I would pass along this update that I received from the Market Manager…

We are located directly in front of the Augusta Fair Grounds off the Gordon Hwy. Near the intersection of Walton Way. If you need directions, Please feel free to call our staff and we will be glad to direct you in. Our market is a State Farmers Market that is regulated by the Ga. Dept. of Agriculture.

The market is open year round, 7 days a week. It is traditionally slow in the winter months. The local harvesting time here for our Market runs from June-Sept. Although we do have something for sale year round.

We will have some diverse areas of the Market this year with people selling everything from conventionally grown fruits and vegetables to organic. We also will have Hormone free local frozen Chickens and a New Garden Center as well. Understand that the Market changes daily with selection during the season so if you have to drive any sizeable distance, feel free to call the Market inspection office at 706-721-3004 for any questions you may have.

Thank you for your interest in our Market and your support of Georgia Agriculture.
