It’s vine-ripened strawberry time! Gurosik’s berries are an annual tradition with many families. I noticed the first Gurosik’s tent out a couple of days ago. The owners tell me that this year they’re about a week later than usual because of the exceptionally cold winter that we had. Rest assured, I’ve already tasted some and they are super sweet this year!
There are currently 5 markets open, with a few more opening soon.
- The family farm at 345 Briggs Rd. in N. Augusta, SC is open Monday – Friday from 8a-7p, Saturday from 8a – 5p, and Sunday from 1p – 6p. This market offers fresh berries (fresh picked now, you pick starting April 23, 2010), produce, peaches, processed products, flowers, plants, purses, jewelry, and gift items. Directions: From I-20 take SC Exit 1, Rt. 230 North, 6 miles to Sportsman Corner Store: turn right onto Briggs Rd. and go 3 miles.
- Roadside Market #1 is the I-20 Farmers Market at Wacky Wayne’s Fireworks (at SC exit #1), and is open from 10a – 6p.
