Day 53 – Fort Gordon Spring Fest 2010

Ft. Gordon Spring Fest at Barton Field

There’s a big treat in store for kids and adults alike at Ft Gordon‘s Barton Field this weekend! Spring Fest 2010 started today, and will be going on through Sunday.

Important! Each adult must have a photo ID to be admitted through the gate, and each car needs a vehicle registration and proof of insurance as well.

Here is a general schedule of events:

Friday, April 30

  • 4pm – close … Carnival
  • 5p -    … Food concessions open (Greek/American, Chinese, Mexican, Southern BBQ, German, Puerto Rican)
  • 4pm – 8pm … Arts/Crafts  Vendors/Demonstrations
  • 7pm -     … Army Signal Corps Band – Dixieland
  • 8:30pm – 10:30pm …  Lloyd Dobbler Effect

Saturday, May 1

  • 8am -     …. FGSC Flea Market opens
  • 9am – dusk …  Pony rides
  • 10am  …. Carnival opens
  • 10am – 6pm … Arts/Crafts   Vendors/Demonstrations
  • 10am – 4pm  ….  BOSS car, truck, and bike show
  • 11am … Food concessions open
  • 12pm – 5pm …. Storyland Theatre and the Augusta Players
  • 12pm – 5pm …  Kid’s activities tent
  • 12pm – 5pm … Large group art projects
  • 12pm – 5pm … Art competition showcase tent
  • 1pm – 2pm … BOSS talent show
  • 2pm – 4pm …  Timber sports (ax throwing, inflatable obstacle course, land boat races)
  • 3pm  …  BOSS car, truck, and bike show awards ceremony
  • 6pm … Tethered Balloon rides
  • 6pm … London Arrington and Kemba Colfield with Garden City Jazz
  • 8:30pm – 10:30pm … Locos Por Juana (Miami Style Latin Fusion Band)

Sunday, May 2

  • Rain date for Flea Market
  • 12pm – 5pm … Military Appreciation Day – unlimited Carnival rides for $10
  • 12pm … Carnival opens
  • 12pm … Food concessions open
  • 12pm – 5pm … Symphony Orchestra Augusta, Teen Talent show, Garden City Chorus
  • 12pm – 5pm …  Arts/Crafts  Vendors/Demonstrations
  • 12pm – 5pm … Kid’s activity tent
  • 12pm – 5pm … Large group art projects
  • 12pm – 5pm … Art competition showcase tent
  • 12pm – 5pm … pony rides
  • 2pm – 4pm … Timber sports (ax throwing, inflatable obstacle course, land boat races)

CARNIVAL PRICES

  • Friday, April 30 – 4pm-close – $10 armbands for 8 and under, $20 for 9 and over
  • Saturday, May 1 – 10am-close – $10 armbands for 8 and under, $20 for 9 and over
  • Sunday, May 2 – noon-8pm – $10 armbands for all
  • Tickets – $1.00
