If you’re planning on relocating to Augusta GA, and you haven’t had time to get to know the area yet, you may not know about some of the surrounding suburbs such as Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, Harlem, Appling, and Hephzibah GA. All of these suburbs are located in Columbia County with the exception of Hephzibah. While Augusta has the Riverwalk, the fabulous shops along Broad Street, museums and more, one of the things that Columbia County excels in is community events.
The Columbia County Community Events Calendar is always loaded with family friendly options such as blues concerts at the Columbia County amphitheater (behind the Columbia County Library in Evans GA), Family Movie Matinees at the PAC, outdoor movies, and a Christian Music Series among other things. Coming up soon is the ESPN BASSmasters fishing tournament at Wildwood Park at Clarks Hill Lake in Appling GA.
So whether you choose to live in Augusta, or in one of the suburbs in Columbia County, take comfort in knowing that there will always be a myriad of activities going on close by in Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, Harlem, or Appling. It certainly makes for a great place to raise a family!
