Sumter Landing

Sumter Landing is a beautiful newer development consisting of over 200 homesites in  Evans GA. The neighborhood enjoys a prime Columbia County location adjacent to the Savannah River, just off Mullikin Road in Evans. Construction in Sumter Landing began in 2005 and continues today.

Builders

Well respected local builders that are currently building in Sumter Landing includeSumter_Landing Jake Ivey, R.T. Bailey, and West Star Construction. The majority of the homes are well appointed with features such as granite countertops, custom tile work, hardwood flooring, and extensive millwork. Exterior construction of the homes consists mainly of brick, hardy plank, and stacked stone. Many of the homes are Energy Star certified, and several homes in the neighborhood enjoy a river view.

Amenities

Other amenities available to residents of Sumter Landing include a private pool, playground, pavilion, and sidewalks. From the pool and pavilion area, residents can follow a nature trail that winds through the woods and across a boardwalk to an island in the Savannah River. Here, there is a boat deck and several picnic tables for the enjoyment of residents.

Home Prices

Home prices in Sumter Landing are generally in the mid-200s to upper-300s at the time of this writing. The majority of the homes have 4-6 bedrooms, and home sizes range from approximately 2400–3500 heated square feet. As with most new neighborhoods in this area, you can always pick your own home site and have a custom home built within community guidelines.

Home Styles

Home styles range from single story ranch style homes to 2 story homes with basement workshop/storage areas. Some of the homes are graced with rocking chair front porches, carriage style garage doors, and beautiful landscaping which makes them Southern classics.

Columbia County Schools

The Columbia County public schools which service Sumter Landing include River Ridge Elementary, Riverside Middle School, and Greenbrier High School. The 2011-2012 GA report card scores are available her for River Ridge, Riverside, and Greenbrier if you are interested in seeing each school’s accomplishments. You’ll see on the report cards that all three schools exceeded the accomplishments of the Columbia County school district as a whole.
